Understanding Before Treating

Clémence focuses on postural physiotherapy and chronic pain management, helping patients address movement patterns and long-standing pain with a whole-person, evidence-based approach.

Pain is not always where the problem lies.

This belief guides the way I approach physiotherapy. Rather than focusing solely on relieving the painful area, I take the time to understand what may be contributing to the onset or persistence of the symptoms — and, above all, to give each patient the knowledge and tools to gradually take an active role in their recovery.

I have been working as a physiotherapist for more than 10 years and currently practice at Levup Physio, a physiotherapy clinic in Ixelles, Brussels. After completing a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, with a specialization in sports physiotherapy and manual therapy, I continued my training in muscle chains and Pilates.

Today, I mainly work with people experiencing non-traumatic musculoskeletal pain, including lower back pain and back pain, neck pain, muscle tension, tension headaches, as well as recurrent or persistent pain.

Every treatment starts with a personalized assessment. Taking the time to observe how the body moves, identify areas of tension, and understand the habits or compensatory patterns that may contribute to the symptoms helps me develop a rehabilitation program tailored to each individual.

Depending on your needs, treatment may combine manual therapy, muscle chain work, mobility exercises, therapeutic exercise, and strength training. But physiotherapy does not stop there. Understanding what is happening in your body and knowing what you can do yourself are, in my view, essential parts of a successful rehabilitation process.

My goal is therefore twofold: to help you feel better today, but above all, to give you the tools to feel better in the long term.

Because effective physiotherapy is not simply about treating pain. It is also about helping you better understand your body, regain confidence in movement, and gradually become more independent in managing your recovery.
